The Western Avenue Baptist Church started ministering to Toledo’s near South side about 100 years ago. Men, women and children have been receiving spiritual and material help from this ministry for a very long time.
This October, the building and ministry was renamed as the Western Avenue Family Center, a reflection of the ministry’s direction and purpose. The ministry seeks to be a resource for the families and individuals in it’s neighborhood.
The types of services offered:
• Sharing the necessity of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Passing out groceries
• Add a Friday night family film night
• Add an after school program

Adopt a block
WAFC is pleased to join in a new initiative to seek a transformation of a 3 block area of Western Avenue. This effort will be launched by a partnership of ministries in the Spring of 2008. We will share more of this vision in the coming months. It will include an effort to meet and pray with every home on the selected streets. It is hoped we can establish Bible studies in the area as well as help the residents with job skills, employment searches, parenting skills, home repairs, and other needs both spiritual, emotional and material.
